How to select the appropriate tie for you
For picking and buying the perfect tie for your suit, there are some guidelines by which you can easily get a befitting one. For choosing right and qualitative tie, some basic steps are there which you can follow while purchasing, they are as follows:
- Though, the tie length and width completely depends on fashion trends and body size but length of 54 inches and width of 3 1/4 inches is considered as an average.
- A quality tie is always smooth and soft, comprised with usually three pieces sewn together.
- Also known as pocket tipping, analyze the tie's lining. The lining will tell you about the shape and bulk of tie. Lining of tie should draw out from the bottom to narrowest point. The tie must be lined to the tips, likely with material that has high amount of wool.
- Drag the slip stitch which is a loose thread found at the back of tie, underneath the two joined flaps. If you tug the slip stitch of a good quality tie, it will cause the tie to gather in folds.
- Avoid ties that twist and bend when draped over your hand.
- Appropriate tie will always lie flat on your chest such that the narrower end of tie is lying behind the middle of wider end. Bar tacking runs across the top and bottom ends of tie where as slip stitching runs vertically. High end tie consists of bar tacking on the top and bottom.
- For having a good tie, you must have at least $50 to $100. For a designer or handmade tie, costs can vary up to $300.

Firstly choose shirt and in accordance with it select the tie pattern.
Tie pattern must complement with shirt. Eye catching and appealing shirt
summons quiet, simple tie while striped shirts will look awesome with bold
color striped tie. While choosing color of tie, try to change the
monochrome appeal. Contrast the color of tie and shirt. Pale blue shirts
