Caring For Socks : Useful Tips

Caring For Socks : Useful Tips Mar 15, 2011- Socks play an important part in a man's complete dressing but, often ts importance and care is underplayed. Bring an essential clothing accessory, one should pay equal attention towards the maintenance of socks as well. Mentioned here are a couple of tips that can help in the longevity of mens socks. Take a look:

Avoid Sharp Objects

Sharp things like pins, knives, corkscrews etc. are fatal for the delicate knitting of socks. The damage caused by such articles in form of holes, rips and pulls can be irreparable. Also, remember to keep the toe nails well cut to safeguard the socks as well as maintain physical hygiene.

Maintain Washing Temperature

Make sure that the socks are washed in moderate temperature i.e. below 104 degrees. A temperature higher than that can end up in spoiling the texture of socks material.

Avoid Harsh Cleaners

All the clothing items that are worn close to body like socks, underwear, t-shirts etc. should never be washed with harsh cleaning agents like bleach or stain remover. Mild hand washing soap can be used instead for better results.

Don't Spin Dry

Spin drying the socks can also render negative results on the socks fabric. The constant spinning and strong pulls and turns within the spin tub create adverse conditions for the delicate pair of socks thus, it is best to hand wash your socks and air dry it.

Keep Them in Pairs

Keeping socks in pairs can avoid all sorts of confusion and mismatch at the time of need. The best way to do it is, remove the socks together and make sure to keep them together during washing and storing.
