Q-1 What is the difference between lamb's wool and virgin wool?

Ans. Lamb's wool is obtained by the first shearing of a lamb's wool that is between 7 and 9 months old. The wool so obtained is quit soft as compared to wool obtained from a mature sheep. Virgin wool, on the other hand is wool being used for the first time while making a garment. Lamb wool is much more softer than virgin wool.

Q-2 What color business suit is more appropriate for business or other formal occasions?

Ans. Dark colored suits have traditionally been used for men's suits, and the most accepted colors are designed for the dressiest business and social occasions have traditionally been dark in color. The acceptable colors for suits are:
  • Navy
  • Gray
  • Black
  • Olive
  • Brown ( occasionally)
For decades, black suits have been generally acceptable for social events like funerals, and evening functions. They were not considered too powerful for business wear. With the passage of time, black suits have also been accepted in corporate culture.

Q-3 What fabrics should be used for a good brief?

Ans. The fabric should be chosen keeping in mind the comfort, support and freedom of movement. Cotton blends should ideally be chosen for daily wear as it provides tighter fit.

Q-4 What fabrics are suitable in summer and winter for mens wear?

Ans. There is an exclusive range of fabrics available in the market depending on the seasons. In summers, the best texture for mens wear is one that soaks sweat and gives a cool feeling. Cotton is indeed the best choice. Extremely light, linen is another good alternative. Water resistant and very light, nylon is another good option. For some real cheap pocket friendly stuff, polyester clothing can be tried. Micro fibers are just apt in summer. In winters, mens wear comprises heavy fabrics that give warmth and coziness. There are varieties of woolen fabrics. Tweed is pretty warm and preferred by elderly men. Flannel is another material found on winter men suits. For perfect fashion and durability, suits made of worsted wool is a good option.

Q-5 What is a sherwani?

Ans. The Sherwani is a traditional dress consisting of a long jacket and a churidar. This dress originally came from Central Asia and became the court dress of nobles of Turkish and Persian origin in the Mughal Empire and Delhi Sultanate. Today, sherwani is mean to be an important ethnic wear of Indian men for marriage and other formal occasions.

Q-6 How to hang men's clothes?

Ans. All men should give proper importance on handing clothes for their durability. Different outfits have their special requirements. For example: For hanging blazers, coats, leather jackets etc., you should use heavy wooden or plastic clothes folding hangers, that can give your outfit that extra support to carry off their weight. Woolen knits should be stored in drawers. Never pile up T-shirts, as they are likely to fall down thereby disturbing the crease and spoiling the fold. Same is the case with shirts. Casual shirts should be hung properly on padded plastic hangers. The hangers take care of the shape of your attire, maintaining its fold. For your trouser or pants, the ideal type of hanger is the clamp style that also carries a waistband clip. Pants or trousers demand a proper folding style. This is done by placing both the legs parallel one on the top of the other. Keep these tips in mind for proper maintenance of men's clothing.

Q-7  How to take care of coats?

Ans. Don't ever wash your coat in soap. Always keep your coat clean by brushing with a soft bristle brush from top to bottom and hang up to dry (air dry). The coats should be dry cleaned once in a while. Avoid leaving your coat in your car or trunk on a hot day, especially if it is wet. It will shrink and go out of shape.
