India is the second largest
manufacturer of garments after China, which is the global leader in
garment production. India is known for its high quality garments for
men. Most of the garment manufacturers in the country are in the Small
and Medium scale industry .
The men's clothing industry has been growing steadily over the past few
years, this has been possible owing to the Indian male becoming more
fashion conscious, hence more consumption and also also increased global
demand of men's garments by the rest of the world.
The country also has an advantage as it produces and exports stylish
garments for men at economical prices due to cheap labour rates.
Technological advancement and use of sophisticated machinery has enabled
the manufacturers to achieve better quality and well designed garments
and clothing for men.

The men's formal and casual wear segment has recorded the highest
growth in both volume and value terms. Formal suits, Blazers, jackets
and Inner wear recorded a high growth.

- Casual Shirts: The segment has witnessed a high growth
owing to more and more men opting for casual shirts at workplace and
also an increase in the number of international brands offering
these shirts.
- Casual T shirts: The segment is also witnessing a boom
owing to the vibrant youth having a carefree lifestyle. With
increase in the disposable income, men are upgrading to premium
range of t shirts.
- Mens Trousers: The segment witnessed an up gradation of
men to high range trousers and super- premium range of trousers.
- Men's Formal wear: The segment includes ready made
business suits, blazers, formal jackets and right from low-end
brands the premium brands, there is a high potential of growth owing
to availability of high quality, easy to manage and comfortable
fabrics.
- Men's Nightwear: The segment has also witnessed an up
