SweaterA sweater, also known as a jumper, pullover or a jersey is a popular type of winter clothing for men. This winterwear is available in numerous shades and designs and also made from a range of natural and man made fibers.

History
The history of men's sweater can be traced to late eighteenth century. It was initially worn by American sportsmen to make them sweat. Hence the word 'sweater'. This winter wear was made by knitting different fibers including wool etc. Sweaters then had a stand - up edge around the collar and later on the polo collar was introduced in the early 19th century. Over the years sweaters have become of one of the most popular winter and casual wear for men.

Types of Sweaters
  • Cardigan: It has an open front.
  • Pullover: It does not have an open front.
  • Vest: It does not have any sleeves.


Materials Used
There are a number of natural and man made fibers being used these days for manufacturing sweaters for men. The materials is chosen keeping in mind the purpose, climate and characteristics required. Some of the commonly used materials are:
